Shoot 'em up games (also known as shmups) is a sub-genre of shooter video games (i.e. Life Force, 1942, R-Type and the king: Ikaruga). The genre itself has a cult following of rabid fans always looking for their next "bullet-hell" game - another term used for the relentlessly hard genre. Having bought many "shmups" over the years (Ikaruga being my Favorite) I have to say 'DeathSmiles;' a not-so-new shoot em up developed by Cave has officially caught my eye. Having been released in 2007 over in Japan, rumors of this game hitting the XBox Arcade Service have been running rampant. Well, have no fear you Shmup loving fans out there, DeathSmiles is coming stateside this year ... sometime.
