SSFIV Character Spotlight: Dudley

Welcome to the newly implemented weekly Super Street Fighter IV Character Profile! This is where we will spotlight a character, show off a bunch of stills and videos as well as give a brief history of the selected character. First up on my list are all the newly announced fighters - starting with Dudley. He's always been a character that I was interested in learning but just never followed through on it.

Dudley (ダッドリー) is a "boxing" character in the Street Fighter series...in which he first appeared in Street Fighter III. He is an "upper class heavyweight boxer from Britain with powerful technique and speed. He seeks perfection both in and out of the ring, always behaving as an impeccable gentleman. Dudley is the son of an athlete who later became a successful businessman. When his father's business began to fail when he was in college, Dudley was able to recover his losses thanks to his professional boxing career." wikia

Many consider Dudley to be a "medium tier" character due to his high learning curve. Equipped with multiple "pause/delay" move sets he could be closely compared to Balrog in regards to fighting styles.

Here's a quick synopsis of Dudley's background in the Street Fighter Series as stated by SF's Wikia page:

"In 2nd Impact, when his father's prized Rolls-Royce is purchased from a debtor's auction, Dudley goes after the buyer, a man named Gill. Eventually he reclaims the car, though how he got it back is uncertain. In the followup 3rd Strike, Dudley has received the honorary title of "Sir" after making a comeback and winning the championship title, and is invited into a contest that will be held in the presence of the royal family. He decides to travel the world and improve himself before the day of the match. Dudley is also shown to have a great interest in the gardens of his estate, occasionally losing track of time, or getting lost, as shown in his Third Strike ending."

Dudley has been kept very "hush hush" in regards to his role in SSFIV and only time will tell how faithful Capcom has stuck to the original Dudley. But, for the time being you can get a pretty good feel for him with these nice stills and videos!
